 dy to Body’ is the translated title of this dance production\, which was
  developed by Japanese choreographer Yoko Ando from Yokohama\, together wi
 th the group Tanzende Nachbarn (Dancing Neighbours) from Chemnitz. This in
 itiative\, which arose over the course of the European Capital of Culture 
 2025\, joins people of different ages and backgrounds to dance together. S
 ince its beginning\, the project has fostered intercultural and intergener
 ational exchange. As part of this ongoing dialogue\, Dancing Neighbours ha
 s developed a collaboration with the senior dance program ‘Chal lenge of
  the Silver’ in Kanagawa\, which is planned and produced by the Kanagawa
  Arts Foundation. Dancers from Japan will also participate in this perform
 ance\, further strengthening the artistic exchange between Chemnitz and Ka
 nagawa.\n\nFrom 18 June to 5 July 2026 \, Chemnitz will be in the internat
 ional spotlight: Germany's largest international theatre festival "Theatre
  of the World" is coming to Chemnitz - directly following the Capital of C
 ulture year 2025. For three weeks\, Chemnitz will become a meeting place f
 or artists\, audiences and theatre enthusiasts from all over the world. A 
 lively celebration of the performing arts will take place on stages\, in u
 rban spaces and in unusual locations\, overcoming borders and bringing tog
 ether stories from all parts of the world.\nNine international curators fr
 om Australia\, Canada\, Colombia\, Argentina\, South Africa\, Greece\, Jor
 dan\, India\, Senegal and China are responsible for designing the festival
  programme. They will meet in Chemnitz in November to select around 40 out
 standing productions - works that they have previously viewed in their reg
 ions. The result is an inspiring panorama of current theatre forms\, langu
 ages and perspectives.
