SUMMARY:Stream of Memory | THEATER DER WELT
DESCRIPTION:Duration: 1 h 40 minInformation: Without spoken word\nThe titl
e of this quiet yet intense evening of puppet theatre from Indonesia could
be translated as Stream of Memory. During the forced isolation of people
in the years of the corona pandemic\, the artist couple Maria Tri Sulistya
ni and Iwan Effendi began to develop a work that arose from their longing
for closeness\, relationship and the feeling of connection with other peop
le. This longing has resulted in a stage narrative without words\, a story
about remembering\, forgetting and what remains between people when trans
ience sets in. The entertaining evening is intended for younger and older
people alike. \nFrom 18 June to 5 July 2026\, Chemnitz will be in the int
ernational spotlight: Germany's largest international theatre festival "Th
eatre of the World" is coming to Chemnitz - directly following the Capital
of Culture year 2025. For three weeks\, Chemnitz will be a meeting place
for artists\, audiences and theatre enthusiasts from all over the world. A
lively celebration of the performing arts will take place on stages\, in
urban spaces and in unusual locations\, overcoming borders and bringing to
gether stories from all parts of the world.\nNine international curators f
 rom Australia\, Canada\, Colombia\, Argentina\, South Africa\, Greece\, Jo
rdan\, India\, Senegal and China are responsible for the festival programm
 e. They will meet in Chemnitz in November to select around 40 outstanding
productions - works that they have previously viewed in their regions. The
result is an inspiring panorama of current theatre forms\, languages and
 perspectives.\n\n
